Super Eagles Hold Russia to 1-1 Draw in Moscow Friendly

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw with Russia in an international friendly at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Russia went ahead in the first half when Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi accidentally scored an own goal. Despite the early setback, both sides delivered a competitive and balanced first-half performance.

In the second half, Nigeria increased the tempo and pressed for an equaliser. Their persistence paid off when Tolu Arokodare scored his debut goal for the Super Eagles with a composed finish.

Both teams had chances to seal a win in the closing stages, but neither side could convert.

With the draw, Nigeria finished their May/June international break unbeaten.
