Police Arrest 27 Suspects in Kawo Raid

Date:

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 27 suspected criminals during a raid on hideouts in the Kawo area of Kaduna.

Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Monday. He said the operation, conducted alongside the military, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, was ordered by the Commissioner of Police to tackle rising criminal activity.

“On Sunday at about 10:30 p.m., security operatives launched a joint tactical operation in Kawo and its surroundings, resulting in the arrest of 27 suspects,” Hassan said.

He disclosed that dangerous weapons and hard drugs were recovered during the raid, including knives, axes, cutlasses, and large quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other narcotics.

Hassan added that the police had carried out several similar operations in recent weeks to dismantle criminal networks and ensure peace in the area.

Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across Kaduna State. He warned individuals planning to disrupt public peace to leave the state or face arrest.

“We will continue to clamp down on miscreants and give them no breathing space,” Muhammad said.
