Ondo APC Denies Internal Crisis Ahead of 2027 Elections

Date:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has dismissed claims of internal divisions within its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting the party remains united and focused under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.

In a statement issued in Akure, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, refuted a recent publication suggesting a looming political crisis within the party’s state chapter.

“The APC in Ondo is not polarised but is rather waxing stronger and united under the leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa,” Kalejaye said.

He described the report—which claimed that the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, had held a strategic meeting with local government party chairmen in Abuja—as a fabrication.

“No such meeting took place. The claim is nothing but a product of wicked imagination,” he said. “The local government party chairmen were alarmed by the outright falsification.”

Kalejaye emphasized that major decisions within the party cannot be taken without the consent and endorsement of the governor, whom he described as the leader of the state chapter.

He appealed to APC members and supporters to disregard what he termed misleading reports and to continue supporting the party’s vision and leadership.

“Ondo State APC is known for cohesion and stability,” he stated. “The governor remains committed to the physical and economic development of the state, and we urge stakeholders to provide the enabling environment for this to be realised.”

Kalejaye reaffirmed the party’s dedication to pursuing policies and actions that would benefit both APC members and the people of Ondo State at large.
