TikTok Star Khaby Lame Deported from U.S. Over Visa Violation

Date:

Khaby Lame, the world’s most followed TikToker, has been deported from the United States after overstaying his visa, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The 25-year-old Italian-Senegalese social media sensation was arrested by ICE agents on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. He had reportedly entered the U.S. on April 30 and remained beyond the terms of his visa.

ICE confirmed in a statement that Lame was granted a “voluntary departure order” and has since exited the country.

“Mr. Lame overstayed the terms of his visa and was cooperative during the proceedings,” the agency noted.

Though the incident has sparked widespread conversation online, Lame has yet to directly address the situation. However, he did post an update on Instagram on Wednesday, showing he is now in São Paulo, Brazil.

With over 160 million followers on TikTok and more than 80 million on Instagram, Lame is best known for his humorous, wordless reaction videos that satirize overly complicated life hacks.
