Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has submitted a list of 12 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.
The governor’s request was contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji, and titled “Request for Confirmation of Commissioner in the State Executive Council.” The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, in Akure.
Aiyedatiwa, citing Section 192 (1 & 2) of the 1999 Constitution as amended, urged the lawmakers to expedite action on the confirmation in the interest of the state.
The nominees are:
Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, Engr Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, Hon. Ayodele Akande, Engr Alabi Johnson, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, Dr Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, Dr Tob Loko, Mr Olaolu Akindolire, Hon. Sunday Olajide, and Mr Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.
The governor expressed hope that the Assembly would act swiftly on the list to ensure the smooth running of the State Executive Council.
