The Action Democratic Congress (ADC) on Friday hosted a major political gathering in Lagos, bringing together several groups under a united front aimed at unseating the ruling party in the 2027 general election.
Held under the theme “Strengthening Alliances for a Better Nigeria,” the event featured participants from the Association of Former PDP Aspirants, the Atiku Coalition Support Group, the Labour Party, the Omoluabi Group, and others.
ADC Lagos State Chairman, George Ashiru, said the coalition was formed to bolster the party’s structure and focus on campaign strategies once candidates are chosen. He emphasized that the alliance’s ideology was people-focused and inclusive, aiming to support candidates who truly care about citizens’ welfare.
National Coordinator of Nigerian Youth for Atiku, Babatunde Olanrewaju, backed the move, saying it went beyond just the presidency. He claimed the PDP had become irrelevant due to internal crises, noting that the party currently lacks key leadership figures.
Mohammed Ogidi, ADC’s Organising Secretary in Lagos, highlighted the party’s openness to diverse political voices. He expressed confidence in the coalition’s ability to reshape Nigeria’s political direction and provide a real alternative in 2027.
