Ekiti APC Endorses Tinubu, Oyebanji for Reelection

Date:

The Ekiti State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for reelection, citing their commendable leadership and policy achievements.

At a caucus meeting held in Iyin Ekiti on Friday, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, moved the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement. Adaramodu praised the President for implementing transformative economic reforms and comprehensive security strategies within his first 18 months in office. He emphasized Tinubu’s impact on the socio-economic landscape, describing the reforms as “transformational.”

“I move that we in Ekiti APC adopt continuity, starting from President Tinubu, and that come 2027, he should continue as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Adaramodu said.

He also dismissed the influence of opposition alignments, saying, “We are not worried. Politicians will always play politics — through lies or propaganda, they have to try something.”

On Governor Oyebanji’s endorsement, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, lauded his integrity, dedication, and developmental strides. He noted improvements across infrastructure, security, healthcare, and education in the state.

“Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, and his performance has led to socio-economic growth in Ekiti. I move that this caucus endorses him to contest the 2026 gubernatorial election,” Aribasoye stated.

APC State Chairman Sola Elesin echoed this sentiment, commending Oyebanji’s widespread interventions across all towns in the state. He cited progress in rural electrification, agriculture, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

Former Governor Kayode Fayemi appreciated Oyebanji for his humility and service, while another former governor, Niyi Adebayo, declared full support for his re-election bid.

Oyebanji, in response, expressed gratitude to the party leaders for their confidence in his leadership and thanked President Tinubu for fostering an environment that empowers states through national reforms.
