FCT Police Deny Sealing PDP National Secretariat

Date:

ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted media reports claiming that its operatives sealed off the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, described the reports as “false and misleading,” asserting that the police presence was purely for maintaining law and order.

“The Command wishes to categorically state that this information is false, misleading, and does not reflect the true situation on ground,” Adeh stated.

She explained that officers were deployed to the PDP secretariat as a preventive measure to ensure peace and public safety, not to disrupt party activities or seal the premises.

“At no time was the Secretariat sealed off by the Police,” she emphasized.

The FCT Commissioner of Police also called on media outlets to verify sensitive information through the Police Public Relations Office before publication to avoid causing unnecessary tension.
