Oliseh Warns Osimhen Against Galatasaray Move, Urges Premier League Switch

Date:

Former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has advised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to urgently seek a move to the Premier League amid reports linking him with a surprise return to Turkish club Galatasaray.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Oliseh described Osimhen as being at a “very delicate crossroad” in his career, stressing that the Napoli forward risks long-term regret if he misses the opportunity to join a top English club.

“Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad. He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry or he risks so much regret! Man. United and Arsenal need this player if only…..” Oliseh wrote.

The warning comes as speculation intensifies over a possible transfer back to Galatasaray, where Osimhen once impressed during a loan spell by netting 26 goals and leading the club to a league title. However, Oliseh believes the Premier League offers the kind of challenge and visibility necessary for Osimhen’s continued development and legacy.

The 26-year-old is currently under contract with Napoli until 2026, but his future at the Italian club is uncertain. Reports suggest that new head coach Antonio Conte does not view Osimhen as part of his plans and may even relegate him to the youth team if he fails to secure a move.

Concerns are also growing that Osimhen’s age could become a stumbling block in transfer negotiations. Some Premier League clubs are reportedly hesitant to make a high-cost investment in a striker nearing his late twenties, fearing limited long-term returns.

Despite the uncertainty, Osimhen remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent football exports and a proven goal-scorer in Europe. His next move is expected to be crucial, both for his career trajectory and his standing among the continent’s elite forwards.
