Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has disclosed that fellow artist Wizkid has expressed regret over their public fallout during the EndSARS protests in October 2020.
In a recent interview on The Esther Show, Reekado revisited the incident where Wizkid publicly insulted him on social media, calling him a “fool” and a “clout animal” after he announced the release of their collaborative song, Omo Olomo, amid the nationwide protests.
Reekado clarified that the decision to release the song was made by his management, despite his initial opposition.
“Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route,” Reekado said.
He added that Wizkid also brought up his past behaviour towards music executive Don Jazzy, acknowledging that his actions were inappropriate.
“He mentioned that we are three people in the game who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so we are good now,” Reekado added.
The two artists appear to have reconciled, putting their past differences behind them.
