Arsenal Target Eberechi Eze in Midfield Overhaul Plans for 2025/26

Date:

Arsenal have identified Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as a top transfer target ahead of the 2025/26 season, with manager Mikel Arteta keen to inject more creativity and versatility into his midfield.

The 26-year-old England international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most technically gifted midfielders and played a central role in Palace’s FA Cup-winning campaign under manager Oliver Glasner. His ability to operate as a central playmaker, attacking midfielder, or winger has attracted strong interest from several top-flight clubs.

Sources close to the Gunners suggest that Eze is high on Arsenal’s shortlist as the club looks to build a squad capable of competing for major honours. With uncertainty surrounding the futures of Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira, Eze’s arrival would add depth and dynamism alongside Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice.

Though Crystal Palace are eager to retain Eze’s services, they are also realistic about growing interest and would reportedly demand a fee of at least £60 million. The midfielder is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2027, placing the Eagles in a strong negotiating position.

Arsenal have already begun internal discussions about the potential deal and may consider structured payments or including fringe players in a swap deal to reduce the financial burden.

According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, preliminary talks are already underway in London. Should a move materialise, it would offer Eze the opportunity to play regular Champions League football and take the next step in his career on a grander stage.
