The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that it will launch a new digital platform for the application of the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) on August 1, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Service Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Akinsola Akinlabi, in Abuja.
According to Akinlabi, the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s broader reform agenda to modernise the NIS and improve transparency, efficiency, and accessibility across its services.
The new platform, available at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, will allow applicants to complete their CERPAC applications entirely online. From August 1 onward, physical CERPAC forms will no longer be accepted.
“All CERPAC applications after July 31 must be submitted solely through the online portal,” Akinlabi stated.
He added that the move to a digital system is designed to enhance user experience and streamline the application process for individuals and companies handling immigration responsibilities for expatriates.
Applicants who have already made payments but are yet to submit their physical forms have until July 31 to do so. After the deadline, any unsubmitted form will be considered void and all associated payments forfeited.
“Individuals and companies with pending submissions are strongly encouraged to complete all processes within the stipulated timeline to avoid any inconvenience,” the statement warned.
The NIS urged anyone with enquiries regarding the transition to direct their correspondence to the Office of the Public Relations Officer.
Akinlabi reaffirmed the service’s commitment to delivering modern, tech-driven immigration services in line with global best practices.
