In another matchup, rising star Seun Ogunsakin cruised past Kwanje Elisha with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 victory to continue his impressive form in the tournament.
Endurance Ehigiemusoe also secured a spot in the third round after beating Morakinyo Akinwale 7-6, 6-1. Ibrahim Suleiman joined him with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Ezekiel Azi, while Emmanuel Michael dispatched Akeem Azeez 6-2, 6-0.
Former champion Thomas extended his unbeaten streak this year, edging out Akagha Paul in a thrilling contest that ended 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
