Las Vegas to Host 2026 World Cup Draw on December 5 — Reports

Date:

Las Vegas has reportedly been selected as the host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw, scheduled to take place on December 5, 2025.

According to reports from ESPN and Mexico’s TUDN, the draw for the expanded 48-team tournament — co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico — will be staged in the iconic American city.

The event will see 12 groups of four teams each drawn, setting the stage for the first-ever 48-nation FIFA World Cup.

Interestingly, this will mark the second time Las Vegas hosts a World Cup draw. The city also hosted the ceremony ahead of the 1994 World Cup, despite not serving as a match venue — a scenario set to repeat in 2026.

FIFA has not officially confirmed the venue or date for the draw. However, sources indicate preparations are underway for a high-profile event similar to the 1994 edition, which helped generate early buzz for that year’s tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be the largest in history, featuring an expanded format and taking place across 16 cities in North America.
