Joao Felix Joins Al Nassr, Reunites with Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia

Date:

Portuguese forward Joao Felix has signed a two-year contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, the club confirmed on Tuesday. The 25-year-old will link up with fellow countryman Cristiano Ronaldo in what promises to be one of the league’s most high-profile attacking partnerships.

Felix, once regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, made headlines in 2019 when he joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in a deal worth €127.7 million ($147.3 million), making him one of the most expensive transfers in football history.

However, the forward has struggled to recapture the form that earned him that big-money move. Despite loan spells at Chelsea, Barcelona, and AC Milan, Felix has not managed to score more than 10 goals in a single season since leaving Benfica.

“I’m here to spread joy. Let’s win together,” Felix said in a video posted on Al Nassr’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The club also confirmed that his contract runs until 2027.

Felix now joins a growing list of European stars heading to Saudi Arabia and will be hoping to revive his career alongside Ronaldo, who signed for Al Nassr in December 2022.

The move marks another bold statement from Al Nassr as they continue to bolster their squad with internationally recognized names.
