APC Gets Boost in Oyo as Dr Adewale Kareem Joins Party

Date:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Monday welcomed a significant new member, Dr Adewale Kareem, popularly known as AKK, into its fold.

Kareem, joined by his supporters, was formally received at the APC state secretariat in Ibadan during a carnival-like event that drew party loyalists and leaders from across the state.

Expressing appreciation for the warm reception, Kareem said his decision to join the party was driven by a deep desire to serve the people of Oyo State. He stated that the APC’s progressive ideals align with his personal goals of inclusive development, educational empowerment, and sustainable growth.

The state APC Chairman, Olayide Abas, through the party’s Secretary, Tajudeen Olanite, commended Kareem for his bold move, describing it as a sign of growing confidence in the party’s vision for the state.

Meanwhile, a member of the House of Representatives from Oyo State, Aderemi Oseni, has expressed confidence that the APC will take over governance of the state in 2027.

Oseni, who represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, criticised the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to attract federal projects and partnerships that would benefit residents. He stated that Oyo is suffering the consequences of being on the political sidelines.

Speaking in Ibadan while addressing leaders of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) across the state’s 33 local councils, the lawmaker declared that APC is well-positioned to produce Governor Seyi Makinde’s successor and align the state with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
