Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have returned to the country following their record-breaking fifth consecutive title at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The triumphant team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday to a warm welcome from fans and officials.
With this latest victory, D’Tigress have become the first team in Africa to win five AfroBasket titles in a row — a feat that cements their dominance on the continent.
The players and officials are expected to be hosted by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in recognition of their historic achievement.
