House of Representatives member Abdulmumin Jibrin has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election.
Jibrin, who represents Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency of Kano State under the New Nigeria Peoples Party, stated this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He said his admiration for Tinubu transcends party affiliation, describing their relationship as “great.” Jibrin, a former Director-General of the Bola Tinubu Support Group Council, defected from the All Progressives Congress to the NNPP in May 2022, citing internal party disputes.
His recent visits to the Presidential Villa have fueled speculation about a possible political realignment ahead of 2027.
When asked whether his loyalty to Tinubu outweighed his ties to NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, Jibrin said he would choose Kwankwaso, but added that he preferred both men to work together with Tinubu as president.
