As part of preparations for its upcoming national convention, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has commenced activities for its ward, local government, and state congresses.
Speaking at the party’s state headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the State Publicity Secretary, Sani Dododo, confirmed that nomination forms have already been distributed to aspirants across all 250 wards in the state. He announced that the ward congress would take place on September 13, to be followed by the local government congress on September 20, while the state congress is scheduled for September 27, 2025.
Dododo explained that after each congress, an Election Appeal Committee would be constituted to address complaints and ensure transparency, fairness, and due process throughout the exercise. He assured party members that the process would be open, stressing that every member has the right to contest.
He also advised members with concerns or inquiries to channel them through their respective local government chairmen.
The development comes as the PDP prepares for its national convention, which was recently rescheduled from August to November 2025. National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced the change after the party’s 101st National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, adding that the convention, initially fixed for Kano, would now take place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
