More than 50 former lawmakers from Osun State have unanimously endorsed Bola Oyebamiji as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Oyebamiji, who currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority, received the endorsement during a series of interactive sessions held at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office in Osogbo.
The gathering brought together former legislators from across the 26 State Constituencies, 9 Federal Constituencies, and 3 Senatorial Districts. The lawmakers, representing the 1st to 7th Assemblies at the state level and former National Assembly members, expressed their firm support for the Ikire-born technocrat.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the immediate past Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, described Oyebamiji as a perfect fit for the governorship role. He said the former lawmakers were not only backing Oyebamiji but were also committed to working tirelessly to ensure his victory.
Owoeye also emphasized their unwavering dedication to the AMBO movement and promised that their support would continue before, during, and after the election.
The endorsement marks a significant boost to Oyebamiji’s campaign, as the backing from a wide range of former legislators could help consolidate support within the party and across the state.
