The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully recovered an English-made Beretta pistol along with twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition during a raid in the Masaka Area of Karu Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Saturday in Lafia, SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed that the operation was part of ongoing efforts by the state Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro-Mohammed, to combat criminal activities in the state.
The firearm was discovered at a criminal hideout known as ‘me and you,’ and a 25-year-old male suspect, Buhari Mustapha, from Katsina State, was apprehended following a thorough search.
Jauro-Mohammed has directed an investigation into the incident, with the goal of apprehending other criminal elements in the region. He commended the police personnel for their diligence and urged them to continue their relentless efforts in tackling crime across the state.
