Famous Nigerian Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1, has revealed that he is a Christian, contrary to the widespread belief that he is a Muslim.
Speaking on the Agbaletu Radiovision podcast, the ‘Ade Ori Okin’ hitmaker clarified that he is a devoted member of the Celestial Church of Christ. The 68-year-old explained that his first name, Wasiu, and the Islamic burial rites performed for his mother had fueled the public’s misconception about his faith.
Reflecting on his spiritual journey, Kwam1 said, “Yes, I attend the Celestial Church. I’m a bona fide member of the Celestial Church of Christ, a proud one. In fact, I built a church. During my difficult times, I sought religion and the face of God in two different ways. There’s no place I didn’t seek God’s face.”
His revelation came as a surprise to many fans, especially since he buried his mother, Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, according to Islamic rites in January 2025.
