Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Dismisses Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

Date:

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has firmly denied reports linking him to a coalition involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing the rumours as the work of mischief makers and political opportunists.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, on Sunday, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he has no plans to defect.

“I will be the last man standing in APC; I can’t and I will never even harbour the thought of leaving my party to join any coalition belonging to Atiku or anybody,” the statement read.

Governor Idris emphasised that the APC was instrumental in his political rise and his election as governor of Kebbi State, pledging unwavering loyalty to the party.

“My focus remains on delivering good governance and advancing development across all sectors in Kebbi State. Political jobbers should rethink because I will not succumb to their imagination,” he added.

Idris stressed that he is committed to his administration’s agenda and will not be distracted by baseless rumours aimed at derailing his work for the people of Kebbi State.
